ktron: (i want)

i want...

a mailing list i'm on was discussing how safe or not-safe SUVs are. me, i have no needs that justify an SUV... and i refuse to participate in any arms-race to avoid being the smaller car in an accident. i looked these up as the car i'd want if i lived in europe where they're already all over the cities... and it turns out that they're coming here in 2006! totally crushable by an SUV, but i'm used to that -- my 1990 ford festiva isn't too likely to stand up to one either. now if i can just make the blue box last me a couple more years and save up tons of money...

wow

Is that like a two seater? The way it looks, I don't think tall people would fit. I used to want a two seater sports car until I sat in one...I really wasn't comfortable at all! But that car looks very K-Tron-ish....

yup, it's a 2-seater. and yeah, prob'ly not the most comfortable ride out there for the tall, so no hauling dave around either if i manage to get one (he's 6'7)... but they're soooo cute! and, um, parallel parking looks really, really easy. and they're planning an SUV version for the US, i guess, so perhaps by then i'll be convinced :) (these are all smart cars (http://www.smart.com), btw) and they average about, um, 56 mpg if you put together in-town and out-of-town mileage. which is the big seller for me! i just read this article (http://www.nd.edu/~techrev/Archive/Winter2002/a3.html), which is doing an even better job of making me want them... whee!

And smart cars get you an income tax credit!

impressive :) the little flame-thingy makes up for the minivan look... almost.

I was thinking about putting some spinners on there too, but I decided I had already wasted enough time as it was. My model gets 15 mpg, averaging city and highway mileages.

'Cause of the flames.
