another quick gardening question...

because you folks helped so fantastically last time! anyone know if you're supposed to stake banana peppers? because there are actually already cute little peppers on the plant, it looks like it's in more duress than the tomato... but the little plant card mentioned nothing of the sort, and a half-hearted websearch reveals very little.

(oh, and the rose has some new leaves unfolding today! yay! i haven't killed it yet! not blooming, either, but dead plants don't make new leaves, right? if it ever blossoms i'll post pics.)

(you know you've been watching far too much buffy when talking about "staking tomatoes" results in violent, dusty mental images... i really need to get a job, eh?)

(and while i'm being silly and adding on multiple parenthetical remarks at the end of the entry, why not... i'm a genuine redneck! i mowed the grass sunday after i drank half a pot of coffee and had nowhere else to put the resulting hyperactivity... unfortunately, i forgot some spots with the sunscreen.)

Eh, I remember sometimes my dad putting like a wooden stake and tying the plant to that when it got big, but it wasn't an all the time thing. If I see my mom today I'll ask.

I'm bored and need to go to Knoxville, but just don't wanna....But I do feel the need to drive my new ride. You'd be against it since it's big and not very gas efficient, but it is handy for a country girl :)

thanks! i'm guessing that if the peppers start getting dangerously close to the ground, i should hold 'em up.

ooh, if you want to just come show it off and visit, dave'll be impressed whether i approve or not! :) (i know you haven't met him, but hey... he drools whenever we pass trucks that look like they could actually be used for work, and even i have to admit that his dad's truck's awfully handy for the frequent moving.) and i'm sure lu would be delighted to see you too!

Yeh, mom said if it got top heavy to hold it up. She looked at me as if I had asked if I was crazy.

Oh, I can show off my truck. Trucks are good for hauling stuff, like trash, washing machines, water pipe, bath tubs, large dogs, and goats.

Stake it ::amused::. If it ever gets substantial enough to support its own weight you can always take the stake off. We have half the things in our planting beds staked up, roses, bushes, young trees...
