Apr. 11th, 2005 09:55 pmdriving without glasses is weird. i get a kick out of squelching the urge to fumble for them whenever i walk out to the car, though.
it took me half an hour at the optometrist's this morning to get the things in. this is with coaching. i don't want to think about how early i need to get up tomorrow morning to ensure i get to work on time. i was a little shocked at how fast it all moved, though... when they were ready to let me go, i announced that i was interested in trying contacts. two minutes later, they have the trial pair in the room. i'm used to glasses speed, where you go away for a couple days before you get anything.
i'm a little scared to go to bed, scared that once i take them out they won't go back in. and i like them in -- i can't tell until i randomly look up at something i'm not used to being able to see. like cars on the road outside work. and then i get surprised and tickled all over again.
